CRT Royale - The Definitive CRT Shader

Post by skullmeat »

If you play retro games, especially from the era of 2d pixels, you NEED CRT Royale. I've tried dozens of CRT shaders, and none even come close to what a CRT actually looks like. This one however, is very close.

For example, here's a screenshot with CRT Royale emulating an Apature grille (Trinitron) type display:

My favorites are usually stuff from the mega bezel suite or this:

but those are heavy. Have you tried CRT Guest? I find those to be almost the same as Royale, but faster.

I have not. I have a powerful machine and the games I use it on arent very demanding to begin with. That might be good for steam deck tho.

Have a look, I think they are basically just as good for the most part... maybe newer stuff too:

I've tried Royale before but turned it off in RetroArch, this reminds me to fix that lol

It looks really good on Dreamcast games if you can run it.

I can vouch for CRT Guest. Looks great and never gives me any slowdown on any of my machines.

CRT- Guest still doesnt seem right to me. I tried it, maybe I need to tweak it but I like CRT Royale better.
