So this is more of an extension of my desktop setup, but I've been using this more and more so I thought I'd share it too. Streaming from my desktop to my nVidia Shield TV works great and had become my favorite way to play anything that isn't fast paced or needs a keyboard. The Shield TV has turned out to be a great purchase. It still works well and gets updates after 10 years.

Re: Show us your desk/computer setup!
Love to see all the CRTs... here's my setup during the day... the CRT is typically off until I'm gaming at night. Here's the core setup:
So, I HATE the white wall behind my screen, but the building will not allow me to install blackout curtains because it "damages the external facade." They are obsessed with showing investors the building... So, I put up cardboard since it is technically not a curtain that is attached to the wall... and we fight, but they can suck it, lol. I can't see my screens. I was like, "if I can't see my screens, I can't work. If I can't work I won't pay my rent..." So, they just leave me alone mostly.
As for my gear... I really need more companies to make 3840x1600 or larger ultrawides. I love this Alienware, but wonder how a mini LED or something would be. It's an IPS and it's fine... but my CRT looks so much better. It's the Gateway 2000 VX1000 (Mitsubishi Diamondtron tech). I had the 22" model, but it got too dim to work with... and it's huge... so I sold it to someone who repairs these (for $350) and he said it's working perfectly now.
Maybe I'll write more later... I'm procrastinating because I dread doing my final tech videos... lol. Oh, there's another CRT on my left for console stuff:

Re: Show us your desk/computer setup!
@Casey My ideal setup at the moment is just a rolling sit/stand laptop stand with a mount for an external monitor and maybe a mount for my laptop so I can use a keyboard and mouse. Two screens has always been enough, plus I don't do enough heavy PC gaming to justify needing a full desk anymore.
The Macbook Air is what I'm posting from now, using it as a placeholder for a nice Thinkpad or HP Elitebook to use as a daily driver. The other laptop is just my work laptop.
Looking at the hidden objects in these setups is pretty fun. Wasn't expecting to see an Interface poster or an Ali Hazelwood book, but it also feels perfectly appropriate.
@ward Is that a 16:9 CRT monitor? That was a setup I wanted for a really long time. If I ever came across one of these I would absolutely find a way to make it work, even if my fiancee hated me for it lol

I *REALLY* want to get a CRT and seeing all yours has made me jealous. I've been looking for months and I can't find any near me which is annoying. Anyways here's my current CRTless setup.

Yeah I realized that book was there after I had posted the photo lol. My wife is a fan of her work and had let a friend borrow that one and she just got it backbumbervevo wrote: Mar 31st, '26, 01:19 Looking at the hidden objects in these setups is pretty fun. @Archmage you probably can't find any CRTs because everyone else on this forum has already bought all of them XD

do you have any electronics recyclers near ya? That's where I got both of the ones I've had.Archmage wrote: Mar 31st, '26, 09:14 I *REALLY* want to get a CRT and seeing all yours has made me jealous. I don't appear to have recyclers near me but there are a couple of computer repair places, I'll check with them and see if they have any that were dropped off. Thanks for the tip.Casey wrote: Apr 6th, '26, 17:19do you have any electronics recyclers near ya?
