What are you playing?

The technological jump from 1990 to 1992 was bigger than the jump from 2010 to the present day... So, it's all modern.

To sate the hype for Resident Evil Requiem and not impulsively buy it right at launch, I'm giving RE4 Remake another swing. Now I just wanna 100% the achievements.

I'm still working my way through BG3 (I'm very slow and progressing through games). Currently I am in the underdark and I can't say I'm a fan of the area. For some reason underground giant mushroom caves just creep me out and make me feel very uneasy. I hated blackreach in Skyrim for the same reason lol

We need to study our brains and see what pathways differ. I saw you post about the Underdark and thought, "OH NICE! best part... WAIT WHAT?!" The Underdark is the one place that I wanted to live in... I'd play a whole trilogy there. I even loaded up Menzoberranzan last night... but it didn't age well.

Blackreach was my favorite spot in Skyrim too. I wonder if my ancestors lived in caves... and came out to fight your ancestors! lol.

Back in September I decided to play through all the mainline Final Fantasy games. Just finished all the Pixel Remasters and am now playing the PSX version of FFVII on the Ayn Thor.

This is my first go at a bunch of them (1-3, 5, 9, 11-13, 16) and previously I had only finished 4 and 7.

I tend to play multiple categories of things at a time, so...

Quake Brutalist Jam 3 - I'd been on a Quake hiatus for a couple of years, but this might be the biggest deal since Arcane Dimensions in terms of effort/scope. Fully replaces weapons and enemies (though some sounds are not replaced). 77 maps, separated into main section + "new faces" (first-time mappers) + "resurfaced" (adaptations of maps from the first 2 brutalist jams)

Project Absentia - One of several Hellforge Studios GZ/UZDoom-based games I've playtested. This one's styled after old hyper-violent flash cartoons, and borrows quite a bit of Rise of the Triad's mechanics. (I've also playtested Mala Petaka and Relentless Frontier for HFS and would heavily recommend both.)

Hammerwatch (yes, the original) - I never actually finished this when it came out, and bought it for my dad for Christmas, so I figured I ought to actually play it again myself. Current status: finished the original campaign; haven't played Temple of the Sun yet.

Crimzon Clover World EXplosion - I'm in a group that rotates through shmups on a quarterly basis and this one just exited the rotation. We had played the original (World Ignition) previously; EXplosion includes everything from Ignition and its DLCs, plus a new arrange mode and OST. While the game is very CAVE-inspired, Arrange mode adds a gradius-like powerup bar that cycles through as you collect items, which is pretty trippy.

I also played through a bunch of Next Fest demos last week, and still have a couple I've yet to finish, including Darkhaven, developed in part by developers of Diablo 1 & 2, which has an open Kickstarter.

Learning that I have to schedule my hangout time. So, I've been playing No Man's Sky for the first time with my best friend once a week. It's been a great time so far. I do wish we had more time to get into it regularly, but hey I'll take what I can get. The can feel the talons of the Skinner Box sinking in lol
