Let's share music!

Post by Casey »

Gonna create another 'ice breaker' topic here. Let's swap some music! Anything goes.
Here's a song I'm obsessed with...gonna see Opeth for the third time in a few weeks and I can't wait. They are my all time favorite band.

Seen Opeth several times... the Watershed tour was amazing because they played a ton from Ghost Reveries and previous albums. This is taking me back to that golden era (I wasn't as into the prog rock albums).

I've been listening to a lot of 80s/90s metal, folky black metal, and this... Jonathan Hultén is so good (the whole album is good):

I've been listening to Lady Lamb quite a bit lately and I think this is one of her stand out tracks

I've been a fan of Infected Mushroom for years. They just released a new album that I've been enjoying during my long commute this week.

@ward That song got me to buy the Jonathan Hultén album, cheers! I really like some dark folk....also if you like Opeth's older, heavier stuff more than the prog albums then check out their newest record The Last Will and Testament. I actually got into them through the prog stuff first and I like pretty much everything they've ever done.

@the_skotts holy shit this is excellent. I ran to bandcamp to buy this album too! Thanks for sharing!

@Archmage I'm not normally into trance, but this is good! I also like the art style of the visuals.

Here's what I have on this morning....Blood Incantation blends Death Metal with synthy, proggy space rock and it's amazing

I kinda envy you. I would love to discover Jonathan Hultén all over again. I actually think this is their 3rd or 4th best album... and I still love it. They were the guitarist for Tribulation... look at this beautiful creature. They were so amazing live when Jonathan was in the band:

This isn't my typical style for music... but that melody around 3:20 is beautifully haunting (not the other way around). I can't stop listening.

So, today's music for me... been in a basic heavy metal mood...

Another recent drop from an artist I've listened to over the last few years.

I absolutely love the theming, the instrumentals, and the overall environment.

I hadn't previously heard anything in this thread outside of Mannequin Pussy and Infected Mushroom, so this was a fun little treasure trove to listen to!

Opeth is definitely on my radar now. I had a hardcore/metal phase in high school, but I still love its energy and am excited to get back into it now that I'm around a bunch of metalheads.

Never heard of Lady Lamb, but I was immediately hooked. I love some good folk rock with strong female vocals. The mood switches hit really hard in this song.

Blood Incantation... Wow. I'm gonna have to revisit this The Stargate since I didn't watch the music video, but this was awesome to listen to. I love when a band isn't worried about their song's runtime and takes you on an entire journey. This one's gonna be stuck in my head for a while.

Taking a pause on listening to all the great stuff in this thread to drop this in. Here's something from my fiancee and I's favorite artist. They're like a goofy Daft Punk rock band. We're absolutely obsessed with them and always make a point to watch them whenever they tour.

@bumbervevo I love TWRP's stuff. I have watched their Starlight Brigade video probably a thousand times now.
