What are you playing?

The technological jump from 1990 to 1992 was bigger than the jump from 2010 to the present day... So, it's all modern.

Massive UT2k4 forum sesh seems inevitable. Maybe I'll get a server going if you guys ask real nicely.

Never be ashamed of fun. If you're enjoying it, then it's cool. I can't believe this is still going. I just got my PC gamer in the mail... and look at the cover... they are STILL making expansions... wtf.

I mean, I'll be there. Played a little tonight. I think UT99 is still my favorite, but 2004 is amazing with a big group.

I recently beat Tactics Ogre: Reborn after spending 164 hours, about half of which were spent going in and out of the Palace of the Dead before finally making it to the 100th floor. After completing that monstrosity (and getting some solid weapons and armor), I went to the Hanging Gardens and beat the final boss. Was pretty good on the whole, despite what people say about Reborn's many changes.

Currently, I am doing a playthrough of Wizardry VI: Bane of the Cosmic Forge. It's my first ever playthrough, and as expected for a Wizardry game, it's been rough. I'm currently in the River Styx, where I finally managed to get the stats necessary for changing my Human Bard into a Ninja. Wish I could say the same about my Elf Priest or my Elf Mage, as I would happily change either one of them into a Bishop, or my Psionicist Dwarf, who I would happily change into a Samurai (something I had initially planned for my Dwarf Fighter, but I might make him into a Ranger instead) or a Bishop if turning my elves into Bishops doesn't pan out. At the very least, I don't need to worry about my Valkyrie, since she's kicking ass for the most part, even as she holds a cursed Raven's Beak.

Beyond my class change woes, I'm also trying to get that damned caterpillar his hookah while avoiding jellyfish, including their many variants, sirens and insanely overpowered crabs.

It's crazy! I couldn't play retail wow now, its far too intense and flashy for me but I think early wow is still cool.

Sorry but I'm throwing in the towel. Tried every method I could and I can't get one going. Hopefully someone can help? Ports forwarded, and all. Ownership of files taken and proper dependencies used, correct settings, everything. I just can't seem to get past the part where I actually get it listed and visible online in the lobby. COULD BE because of my VPN (the client for which is bound to my router and spread across all my devices, but I can turn device clients off at will), but I just refuse to turn it off or bypass that.

I could just get the old Dell laptop back out of the cabinet tomorrow, install a minimal Debian, and run that with it bypassing the VPN. Nothing else would make sense. I'm too tired right now.

On it. I'll spin up Debian and see what I can do here.
EDIT: I'm not gonna do one on my home network for security reasons... lots of people would probably enjoy getting my ip. I'll eventually get a second connection... but East Coast USA would probably be the best compromise for latency. I looked at Hetzner and they are sold out, so I'll keep trying to see if one becomes available.

@ward If you buy a cheap VPS, I can get you set up with a Wireguard connection and port forwarding. I've had to do port forwarding through VPN for most of my selfhosting projects, so this shouldn't be too hard to get going. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help!

Whatever anyone wants to do is up to them. I think I'll hold off on the laptop server today and see if anyone beats me to it this week. But I'll get back on the ball later.
