Re: Mirrorless Camera
I had the Sony a6000 and was incredibly happy with it. I loved using vintage lenses on it with a mount adapter and got some really cool-looking shots that way. The mirrorless a6700 just seems like a beefed-up verion of the a6000, so I'd pretty happily recommend it.
Thanks! Yeah, I decided to go ...

Re: Coffee Talk
I'm the opposite of a coffee snob. I like pretty much all coffee. I recognize that some stuff is objectively better, but I think it all has merit. I can drink some pre ground cheap stuff from a grocery store and some high quality medium roast from a local roaster and be satisfied with either ...

Re: Coffee Talk
Barrel aged? How is that. Can you tell a difference? @ironclad_chomskyan
There is a slight hint of rum/whiskey etc., based on what you buy. But I am not sure exactly what "barrel aged" means... as in how "barrel-aged rum" is different from normal coffee infused with rum flavor. I like the ...

Re: Coffee Talk
I used to be a wanna-be coffee snob... wasn't particularly good at it though. Tried a whole bunch of stuff, ranging from Death Wish coffee to fermented coffee. Didn't really do much for me, given the premium pricing, but I didn't mind the tangerine fermented coffee.

Re: Linux thread
I have been Ubuntu, currently on 26.04 LTS, on both my laptop and desktop for almost five years now. I do not dual-boot anymore, and have never had any problems with Ubuntu. I don't use snaps, but getting flatpak on Ubuntu has always been easy. Used to distrohop a lot back in the day... but these ...

Mirrorless Camera
So I have been thinking of getting me a camera for a while. I am mostly a hobby photographer, and have been trying to learn stuff on my phone camera. Used to own a DSLR back in the mid-2010s, but that was a pretty basic one.
Wondering if I should get the Sony Alpha ILCE-6700M or the Fujifilm X-T50?

Re: What's the worst book you've ever read?
The Symbolic Species by Terrence Deacon, The Kingdom of Speech by Tom Wolfe and Decoding Chomsky by Chris Knight. They all have one thing in common -- utter charlatanism by people running their mouth about things they simply do not understand. Penrose's books on consciousness are also good ...
