RVR is sort of a Industrial/Symphonic hybrid and ive not heard anything like it before or since. On the subject of symphonic, how about cybermetal/sci-fi symphonic?
Oh well, it's all good. I'm not that into the symphonic stuff, but I thought it was somewhat similar and I like Angtoria since they have a gothier sound. I never got into Nightwish either...

I think I like the cybermetal better... maybe still too... hmm... cheery and 'airy?" for me... I have no idea how to describe it. It sounds like better Scar Symmetry to me, but I am really a philistine with symphonic styles since they are not something I listen to unless I'm in a very rare mood. Ah... I think I know what it is... the cleans are a bit too pretty for me, but it's still good and the music is awesome. I'll probably be a hypocrite and recommend some pretty clean vocals eventually too, lol.

Anyway, I do love the avantgarde symphonic stuff like Unexpect and Diablo Swing Orchestra. Been listening to Pandora's Piñata all day... awesome album name too:

Nice! New Sylosis. Used to be into them back in the Conclusion Of An Age days, but haven't listened in a while. New track is solid. How are they live?
Looks like I'll relive the old days with a bit of this now

They're well worth catching live, I actually originally caught them with Devildriver in 2014 I think. I too was originally hooked on Conclusion of An Age, they switched singer after that album but they actually got better. The new album is brutal but definitely closer to the early stuff

When it comes to EDM, rythym games have broken me. I hate to be that guy, but in my opionion, western EDM really hasnt evolved much in the last decade or so, still trapped by its unwillingness to try new ideas for fear of not selling records. The Japanese on the other hand, seem more willing to push the envelope and try something new. Their EDM scene is more closely tied to doujin circles and dont really have record companies like the US does, which I think allows for more creative freedom.

One Day as a Lion put out one incredible EP and then nothing else. I always wish we got some more from them, but what we did get is really good imo.

@Casey Azure is really good... going to have to get that.

As for Sylosis, I think the album I posted is still my favorite. I'll say that I have mostly out-grown them if that makes sense. I used to love them and In Flames and other melodic bands like that, but I don't listen much these days unless I'm in a nostalgic mood. I do really like how they add a layer of epicness to things though and their melodies are awesome. I will be giving their new album a proper listen though.

Today... I have only had time to listen to a few songs... too much work. So, I'm listening to my comfort album:
