I really enjoy ExplainingComputers. Something about their videos are really comforting, plus I get to learn some cool stuff.

Re: Let's share music!

I absolutely love video game music/soundtracks, it's probably mostly what I've listened to for many many years. Good music can make or break a videogame for me, or anything really.

Love the Dying Light main menu music, eerie, ominous, creepy, I am a synth lover as well, really adored this game's ...

Re: Mirrorless Camera

I had the Sony a6000 and was incredibly happy with it. I loved using vintage lenses on it with a mount adapter and got some really cool-looking shots that way. The mirrorless a6700 just seems like a beefed-up verion of the a6000, so I'd pretty happily recommend it.

Re: What are you playing?

Normally I don't allow myself to buy an Early Access game (been burned too many times) but I pulled the trigger on Subnautica 2 after the drama got resolved by court order. I have been having a blast exploring the new environments and I'm excited to try out the multiplayer at some point.

Great work on the updated post! It's really well-formatted and extensive. I'm gonna have to grab a handful of these.

Re: Proxmox LXC Containers Changed My Life - Seriously

Agreed, containers are awesome. I downgraded my server so I only have a few running with a couple of services on them, but I have to admit that I haven't gotten around to using community scripts that much; I started self-hosting on bare metal and even using Docker was a huge jump for me. My big fear ...

Re: What are you playing?

We started playing Subnautica 2 and it's been a blast! Janky base building, cool fish to look at, spooky plot. We've sunk at least 10 hours into the game already, which is a lot for us.

Re: Project Greyline: Emergency Server Control Over Radio/Shortwave

Pretty cool stuff. I had seen this topic two or three days ago and kept frantically searching for this: https://meshtastic.org/

Same idea of sending messages in an emergency situation where communications go offline. Doing it with a shortwave radio sounds pretty cool...and complicated. Radio and ...

Re: Physical music discussion thread: tapes, records, CDs, etc.

My fiancee and I have been building our CD and vinyl collection. She had a decent vinyl collection that unfortunately got auctioned off in storage, while I've very slowly been buying CDs since I was 19 or 20. She got me a nice Audio-Technica turntable with Bluetooth for my birthday last year, and I ...

Re: Linux thread

Casey ward Yeah, exactly this. Proton and GPU support on Linux has come a really far way, but it just requires a bit too much knowledge and upkeep for me to comfortably run as a daily driver. Just installed Windows alongside Bazzite, so now I've got two fresh OSes to configure and customize.

I ...
