Re: Coffee Talk

I'm the opposite of a coffee snob. I like pretty much all coffee. I recognize that some stuff is objectively better, but I think it all has merit. I can drink some pre ground cheap stuff from a grocery store and some high quality medium roast from a local roaster and be satisfied with either.

Re: Talk about your favorite YouTube channels here.

Y'all are giving me a lot of stuff to check out...how on earth did I miss technology connections?? Gonna check a lot of these out...

skullmeat 8 bit show and tell especially intrigues me because I have very little knowledge of computers from that era.

Speaking of old school youtube vibes, time ...

Re: Kids these days... (kinda sad for them)

So, I work with kids, mostly tweens and teens, so younger than the folks you’re talking about, but it’s relevant all the same...I can’t sugarcoat it, things are bleak in a lot of ways, and I largely think it’s a sign of the turbulent and difficult times that we’re all going through. There’s a ...

Re: What are you playing?

I spent my day playing the newly released Paralives. This game absolutely needs more time in the oven but I really like what's there so far. I like that it's not just trying to be a Sims clone. It's trying to introduce stuff that I've never really seen in a life sim, such as conversations being more ...

Talk about your favorite YouTube channels here.

The modern internet is a hellscape, but I still find myself watching a lot of stuff on youtube. Sure, there's a lot of sludge there like anywhere else on the web these days, but there's a ton of great stuff out there. Let's talk about some of our favorite channels!

I'll post replies in this thread ...

@ward i think you're on to something when you talk about different formats being better suited for different albums or vibes. You're making me wanna see if some of my favortie punk ro death metal albums are available on cassette...off to discogs I go I suppose!

Physical music discussion thread: tapes, records, CDs, etc.

Howdy. Like a lot of y'all, I have grown to care a lot more about owning my stuff. In my area, cassettes and CDs are actually starting to go up in price a bit. I see a decent amount of teenagers at my local record shop, and while they're most interested in vinyl, I'm also seeing them pick up CDs and ...

Re: Linux thread

Hopefully Linux will get there. It's weird... I can imagine very casual users will have a fine time with Linux... and extreme-nerds will be fine, but it's the people in the middle who want to do a bunch of weird and complicated things, but don't want to no-life their OS, lol... those are the ones ...
